The Seven Frequencies + Group Kit
Help Your People Hear Each Other
Every group you lead is full of people speaking on different frequencies. Some need energy before they can move. Some need clear direction. Some need to feel accepted before they can hear anything else. The Seven Frequencies gives your group a shared language for how each person communicates and connects.
The Seven Frequencies comes from Erwin Raphael McManus, author of The Seven Frequencies of Communication.

Talk About It
A 20 to 30 minute conversation for once everyone has their results.
Before you start
Set Up the Room
- Take the assessment yourself first.
- Ask everyone to have their results open on their phone at thesevenfrequencies.com/login, or to know their core frequency.
- Keep the seven frequencies below on screen or on a printout so people can see each other's.

Step 1 + 2 minutes
Open
What you can say:
Every one of us has a core frequency. It shapes what we say, how we say it, and what we need to hear from each other. Today we're going to name ours out loud and practice hearing each other a little better.
Step 2 + 6 minutes
Pair and Share
Turn to one person. Take about two minutes each.
- Name your core frequency and read its line from the list above.
- Tell your partner what it sounds like when you're at your best. Use a real moment: something you said, or a time someone told you your words mattered.
- Listener, just listen. When they finish, tell them one thing you heard.
Step 3 + 12 to 15 minutes
Three Questions
Talk as a whole group, or in groups of three or four.
What is your frequency, and what does it sound like when you are at your best?
Leader noteListen for the same frequency showing up more than once. Point it out.
When have you felt misunderstood here, and what were you trying to say?
Leader noteIf your group is new, drop "here." Listen for the gap between what someone meant and what was heard. That gap often runs between two frequencies.
What do you need to hear from the rest of us when things get hard?
Leader noteWrite these down. They show your group how to show up for each other on hard weeks.
Step 4 + About 5 minutes
Debrief
Ask the group:
- Which frequency is strongest in this room?
- Which ones are quiet or missing?
- Who here might need us to speak in a frequency that doesn't come naturally to us?
You can close the debrief with this line from Erwin Raphael McManus.
"Love needs to travel faster than truth."Erwin Raphael McManus
Closing line
This week, pick one person in this group and say something to them on their frequency.
Optional add-on + 10 minutes
One Message, Four Ways
Pick a real message your group needs to send: an update, an ask, or hard news. Write it four times.
Read all four aloud. Then ask: Which one would the person receiving this most want to hear? Which one was hardest for you to write?
Optional reveal
These four line up with the Motivator, Commander, Healer and Professor. The one that was hardest to write may point to a frequency that doesn't come naturally to you.
